Why we list partners at all
This site has always been vendor-neutral when it comes to information — the rules are the rules, and we don't slant our explanations toward any company's services. But we hear the same thing from readers constantly: "OK, I understand what I need. Now who do I actually call?"
A bad service provider costs you more than money. A missed internal pressure check, a wrong-class extinguisher, or a tag signed without a real inspection can leave you out of compliance — or worse, leave your employees with equipment that fails when it matters. Finding someone you can trust shouldn't require three hours of Yelp archaeology.
So we've done some of that work for you. The companies listed below are local, licensed, and have agreed to a straightforward standard: honest quotes, no unnecessary upsells, and service that holds up under a Fire Marshal's review.
What "vetted" means here
Before agreeing to list any company, we confirm three things:
- Active state license. Every technician performing an annual inspection or an internal maintenance service must hold a current license in Florida. We verify this against the state licensing database before listing, and re-check annually.
- Transparent pricing. Partners are expected to provide a written quote before starting work. No surprise line items, no charges for "inspection fees" that aren't part of the agreed service.
- No pressure upsell tactics. A legitimate service company will tell you what needs doing and what doesn't. If a technician tells you that every extinguisher on a 3-year-old service needs an immediate 6-year internal inspection, ask why — and feel free to get a second opinion.
Service areas: Lake County & Orange County, Florida
Our current partner network covers the two-county Central Florida corridor most frequently served by our readers. Below is a breakdown of cities within each county where our vetted partners actively operate.
Lake County, FL
Fire extinguisher service, inspection, and compliance support for businesses in: Clermont, Leesburg, Tavares, Eustis, Mount Dora, Lady Lake, Groveland, and surrounding unincorporated areas.
Lake County AHJ: Lake County Fire Rescue & the Florida State Fire Marshal. Businesses near The Villages (Marion/Sumter border) should also confirm jurisdiction with their local fire district.
Orange County, FL
Fire extinguisher service, inspection, and compliance support for businesses in: Orlando, Winter Park, Apopka, Winter Garden, Ocoee, Maitland, Windermere, and the greater Metro Orlando area.
Orange County AHJ: Orange County Fire Rescue and the City of Orlando Fire Department (for businesses within city limits). Always confirm which department covers your address.
Our current local partners
We have a focused set of partnerships covering Lake County and Orange County. We're deliberate about keeping the list short — a shorter list means we can actually vouch for each company, rather than rubber-stamping anyone who asks.
If you'd like an introduction to one of our partners in your area, use the contact link at the bottom of this page and let us know your county and the type of business you operate. We'll connect you directly.
How to get the most out of any service visit
Partner or not, you'll get better service — and better protection — if you go into the appointment prepared. A few things worth doing beforehand:
- Know your hazard classification. If you're not sure whether you're Light, Ordinary, or Extra hazard, read the Compliance page first. A technician who quotes you for Extra Hazard equipment when you run a small office is overcharging you.
- Find your existing service tags. Pull the current tags off your extinguishers before the technician arrives. You should be able to see the last service date and whether a 6-year internal is coming due. This prevents being billed for a service that isn't actually due yet.
- Ask for the invoice in writing before they leave. A signed, itemized invoice is your proof of service for an OSHA inspection. A company that resists providing one is a company worth questioning.
- Compare quotes to the numbers on our Cost & ROI page. We've published realistic price ranges for every common service. If a quote is significantly above those ranges, ask the technician to explain what's driving the difference before you approve the work.
Becoming a partner
If you operate a licensed fire equipment service company in Florida and are interested in being considered for the partner list, we do occasionally review new applicants. The process involves a license verification, a brief review of your pricing structure, and a reference check with a few of your existing business customers. We don't charge for consideration and we don't guarantee listing — but we'll give you an honest evaluation.

A note on conflicts of interest
We know that "we vetted them" only means so much coming from a website you just found. We want to be explicit: if a listed partner's service quality declines, or if we receive credible complaints we can't resolve, we remove them from the list. We'd rather have no partners than list companies we can't stand behind.
If you've had a notably good — or notably bad — experience with a company you found through this page, tell us. It's the only way this stays useful.
